Sugar Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Reliability Team Electrician to join our team in a fixed-term full-time capacity, based at our Glebe, NSW site. This role will commence in December 2024 and continue through to January 2026. Reporting to the Operations Manager for our NSW/WA sites, this role will play a crucial part in executing our preventative maintenance plan, performing electrical maintenance and ensuring operational efficiency in a safe working environment.
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Executing the preventative maintenance plan in line with site guidelines and legislation.
* Providing electrical support for unplanned and corrective maintenance work.
* Maintaining all SHE critical equipment as per Australian standards.
* Assisting the mechanical team and ensuring inventory accuracy.
* Managing permits to work for contractors on site prior to commencing work.
* Performing team leader duties when required.
* Attending to after-hours call-ins for engineering support.
What we're wanting you to bring to the table:
This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background (both electrical and mechanical), with a passion for safety and operational efficiency.
* NSW Electrical Licence.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a food or manufacturing environment.
* Experience with post-trade Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
* Strong mechanical aptitude, including knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
* Understanding of legislative requirements for working in hazardous environments (desirable).
* Familiarity with variable speed drives and ability to read schematic drawings.
* Intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
* Experience with a computer maintenance management system (CMMS).
* Excellent fault-finding skills and attention to detail.
* Flexibility to work occasional weekends and overtime if required.
