About This role will see you taking on the critical responsibility of being the primary technical point of contact, providing expert support and leadership for a demanding, high-value client who relies heavily on a large-scale, high-performance NetApp environment to conduct business operations across global markets. You'll be working closely with the client, along with internal support and engineering teams, to ensure smooth operations and swift resolution of any technical issues that may arise. This is a challenging, fast-paced environment where immediate response and proactive problem-solving are paramount. This is a 12-month remote contract role based in Australia, requiring candidates to align with AEST business hours. Key responsibilities: Provide expert guidance for a large, complex NetApp environment, primarily NFS-based, with high-performance clusters operating near capacity. Resolve advanced technical issues with NetApp Cluster Mode, focusing on critical features like FlexGroups and MetroCluster to ensure reliable operations. Oversee upgrades, migrations, and technology implementations, ensuring successful delivery through effective coordination with clients and teams. Act as the primary point of contact, delivering clear updates, managing expectations, and building strong client relationships. Contribute to a global support model, ensuring smooth handovers and collaboration across regions. Enhance operational efficiency by driving automation initiatives, leveraging scripting skills in Python and PowerShell. Essential Skills and Experience: Extensive experience working with NetApp Cluster Mode: This should include in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with key features like FlexGroups and MetroCluster. Candidates with experience supporting production MetroCluster environments and a strong understanding of FlexGroup functionality within ONTAP will be highly regarded. Strong understanding of NFS in large-scale, high-performance environments: You should be comfortable managing and troubleshooting NFS in complex environments with high utilisation rates. Proven ability to work in a high-pressure environment with demanding clients: This role requires someone who can remain calm and focused under pressure, quickly assess and address technical issues, and effectively manage client expectations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Clear and concise communication is essential, both written and verbal. You will be interacting with technical and non-technical personnel within the client's organisation, as well as with internal teams. Building strong relationships and effectively conveying complex technical information is crucial for success in this role. Experience with automation using Python and PowerShell (highly desirable): The client relies heavily on automation for efficiency, and scripting skills will be valuable in supporting their environment.
