Public Sector People are working exclusively with a local council to recruit 2 Senior Development Engineers for a 3 month temporary contract assignment with opportunity to be extended for up to 12 months. As a Senior Development Engineer your role will involve responding promptly to development engineering inquiries, participating in collaborative meetings with internal and external stakeholders and conducting assessments of plans and applications, including Environmental Management Plans, Build over Easement, and Flood Certificate applications. The successful candidates will ideally have both traffic & drainage engineering experience within the public sector. Job Responsibilities: As a Development Engineer, you will play a key role in the community's growth and development. Your responsibilities will include: Provide expert oversight of the checking of Engineering Plans; Environmental Management Plans; Traffic Management Plans; Street Lighting Plans; and assessment of traffic, drainage and subdivision referrals for planning and development applications. Undertake the engineering assessment of town planning, subdivision and building proposals and respond to referrals with regard to development engineering issues. Work in collaboration with others to manage day-to-day work priorities within the Subdivision and Development Engineering team to meet departmental and corporate objectives. Provide support to the Team Leader Principal Developer and Lead Development Engineer on all pertinent Subdivision and Development Engineering issues. Consider and approve all development engineering matters delegated to the position under Council's Deed of Delegation. Respond to development engineering enquiries on a timely basis and participate in collaborative meetings with internal stakeholders, external parties and bodies. Provide advice and support to the Manager, Team Leader and Staff on development engineering issues. Consistently deliver projects on time, on budget and to the agreed standard.
