The Opportunity The Senior Logistics Engineer will develop and maintain Logistics Support Analyses (LSA), through implementation of tasks including Reliability and Maintainability Analysis; Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis; Life Cycle Cost modelling; Spares Assessment; Level of Repair Analysis, and Maintenance Task Analysis for the Insitu Pacific 'Family of Systems' Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) product line.
Responsibilities Plan, develop, review and maintain Logistics Engineering and Support Analysis electronic database and document products associated with the UAS Logistics Support Analyses in coordination with engineering, MRO and other technical teams, and in compliance with customer and industry standards.
Apply advanced engineering technical standards, principals and techniques and implement these through the development, maintenance, measurement, and continuous improvement of Logistics Support Analysis processes, procedures and tools.
Lead development of core product line, and project/customer-specific LSA data and document products, in accordance with Insitu Pacific Quality Management System (IPQMS) processes, and customer requirements.
Update LSA records, data and documented products based on internal/external reviews, source data changes, equipment modifications, and customer improvement requests, and resolve source data gaps and inconsistencies with originator.
Hold Engineering Authority (EA) and conduct authoritative reviews of completed LSA elements for overall technical accuracy and customers format standards/specifications.
Support customer verification reviews and take corrective action based on outcome.
Analyse Product Support requirements to determine project scope and deliverables.
Estimate the impact of the proposal or changes to the LSA products and services.
Develop LSA program plans, budgets, and baseline schedules.
Monitor performance to project plan and budget and coordinate actions to meet project objectives.
Participate in or conduct customer technical and program reviews.
Resolve identified discrepancies and initiate corrective actions.
Experience/Qualifications Engineering degree in a discipline relating to product support, and typically 9 or more years work experience, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret aerospace systems and associated technical information to develop high quality, compliant LSA products.
Extensive experience with definition, set-to-work and operation of Product Support and life-cycle analysis-related business systems.
Expertise and ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyse data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources at the department level.
Knowledge in the use of personal computing hardware and software to enter project information, such as, statements of work, resource identification and usage, task status, cost estimating and tracking, etc.
Complete knowledge of processes and tools to maintain, archive, and retrieve digital files.
Complete ability in constructing/building and providing reports and presentation material as needed for assigned projects.
Knowledge of research tools (e.g., search engines, library databases), methods (e.g., search parameters), and appropriate resources (e.g., external experts) to gather needed data.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while working to schedule commitments.
Demonstrated strong work ethic and the ability to work in a team environment.
The ability to work accurately and unsupervised, and the ability to prioritise work as required and manage external/internal resources.
Aerospace Maintenance - Knowledge of aerospace maintenance concepts, processes (e.g., supply, procurement), and support systems.
Specific Equipment Systems - Knowledge of UAS system/hardware (e.g., navigation, sensors, propulsion, Command and Control (C2) data links, etc) maintenance and operation.
Experience in leading a small to medium LSA team.
Understanding of Configuration and Data Management principles.
Demonstrated experience of Commonwealth Department of Defence logistic requirements.
Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
Holds or is eligible for Australian Security Clearance to SECRET level.
