We are looking for a trade qualified Refractory Bricklayer to support our cell reconstruction teams to the highest possible safety and quality standards. This role is a great opportunity for a trade qualified person, who has a high level of pride in their work and is passionate about safety and embrace the concept of improving every shift via regular, open and respectful conversations. Working a day shift roster and reporting to a Crew Leader, you will be: Performing bricklaying and installation of refractory brick walls within the Cell Reconstruction team effectively and safely. Undertaking placement/screeding of castable materials and bricklaying within a hot and physical environment. Brick stacking and forklift operation Identifying and supporting defect eliminations and providing feedback on asset performance and improvement opportunities. Identifying safety and process concerns and potential solutions to eliminate these risks. What you’ll bring To be successfully considered for this role, you will have: Bricklayer trade qualification with a passion for your trade, ability to work effectively within a team and an understanding of working in a project environment. Refractory bricklaying experience highly regarded as is recent heavy industry experience and extensive bricklaying experience in other industries Experience in working at heights with a demonstrated commitment to safety. Activities at BSL include manufacturing carbon anodes in the carbon plant, aluminium production (smelting) in reduction lines, and casting of molten material into aluminium products ready to ship. The smelter is connected via a conveyor belt to the Queensland Alumina Limited refinery for the supply of alumina.
