What are you going to do
As a Signal Electrician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of the rail signalling network located in Port Hedland. Electricians will contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of signalling systems, collaborating with a dedicated team and covering the entire signalling network.
Duties:
1. Proficiently install, inspect, and maintain rail signalling systems in adherence to industry standards and safety regulations.
2. Diagnose and resolve technical issues in signalling systems promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions in rail operations.
3. Carry out planned maintenance and inspections of relevant signalling equipment to heavy haul network.
4. Provide signal support with track maintenance activities.
5. Collaborate with maintenance teams to identify and address track faults, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the rail network.
6. Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines, maintaining a safe work environment, conducting pre-operation inspections, reporting any machine defects or issues, and using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Essential skills and knowledge
Requirements:
1. Certificate IV in Rail Signalling
2. WA Electrical Licence (unrestricted)
3. Manual C-Class Driver's Licence
4. CPR/LVR
5. First Aid
6. Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card
7. Rail Medical (includes a full Category 1 Rail Safety Worker Medical) - not essential, but candidates must be able to undertake one.
8. Full Australian Working Rights
9. Proven experience in rail signalling installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
10. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and report on maintenance activities.
11. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
12. Demonstrated commitment to safety and zero harm.
