Public Sector People are working with a government organization in the Gold Coast/Logan area who are seeking a Disaster Recovery coordinator on a 6-month Temp contract.
As an experienced Disaster Recovery Coordinator, you will lead and coordinate recovery efforts following Southeast Queensland Severe Storms and Rainfall Events. This pivotal role will support the community’s long-term recovery and enhance the Clients resilience in managing future disaster events.
* Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
* Lead the implementation of Local Recovery and Resilience Plans.
* Manage and report on recovery operations, ensuring clear communication with relevant groups.
* Facilitate recovery meetings and provide regular briefings on progress.
* Identify and address issues, providing recommendations for future improvements.
* Collaborate with the client's Disaster Management team and partner agencies to ensure a coordinated recovery response.
* Support the development and review of disaster management plans and procedures.
About you:
* Proven experience in disaster recovery management within the Queensland Disaster Management Arrangements.
* Strong project management and risk management skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and negotiation abilities, with experience engaging multiple agencies and community groups.
* Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment and manage complex situations effectively.
