Our client is a prominent civil contracting business in South Australia that specializes in the construction of civil infrastructure for local governments, Department of Transport, mine sites, power plants, pipelines and marine projects. They have secured a new $15m road upgrade project at Port Augusta where they have an immediate need for a civil Project Engineer to join the team on a contract basis through until mid-December.
About the Role
This eight-month contract role is a wonderful opportunity to get involved in a "live" project through the delivery stages and to showcase your technical civil engineering skills. The project itself will involve the construction of a 4.6km road upgrade and new overtaking lane, intersection upgrade, asphalting and associated drainage. As Project Engineer you will support the Project Manager and provide technical guidance to the site delivery team, to facilitate the smooth running of the project. This will include undertaking subcontractor management, QA, managing TQs and design changes, monitoring and updating the programme, assisting with claims and variations, and coordinating the procurement of equipment, machinery and materials. This will be a Monday to Friday role, 12 hours per day.
Given that the project is located in Port Augusta, there are flexible engagement options available including DIDO, FIFO (also from interstate) or LAFHA, pending your requirements or personal circumstances. On offer will be a tremendous day rate of CIRCA $850 / Day + Super, (+ LAFHA), and comfortable local accommodation will be provided.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or similar4-6 years post-graduate experience as SITE / PROJECT ENGINEER for Civil Contractors on road and intersection construction / upgrade projects in AustraliaSuccessful employment tenures working as Project Engineer on Department of Transport (SA), DTMR, MRWA, VicRoads roading projects or similar, for civil contractors.Able and willing to work in Port Augusta on either FIFO / DIDO basis, or to relocate for the 8-month project duration with accommodation and LAFHA providedStrong all-round communication skills and high levels of motivationClean Australian Driver's LicenseProvide two favorable references from within the last 5 yearsComplete a pre-employment medical and DAS testing.Company Culture
