Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting the veterinarians with animal patient examination and treatments.
* Conducting nursing consults, patient admissions and discharges.
* Monitoring hospitalised animal patients and administer medications under veterinarians’ direction.
* IV catheter placements.
* Animal blood and urine collections.
* Clipping and scrubbing the surgical site for surgery preparation.
* Assisting the veterinarians with radiography and diagnostic procedures.
* Monitoring anaesthesia during operations.
* Administering anaesthetics and oxygen under veterinarians’ direction.
* Monitoring recovery of patient’s condition from operations.
* Cleaning, packing and autoclaving surgical instruments.
Requirements:
* Minimum veterinary nursing certificate IV or above.
* Able to register with the Veterinary Practice Board of Western Australia.
* One year plus work experience (Australian experience preferred).
* Experience using Vison system, IDEXX Catalyst and ProCyte, urinalysis, digital x-ray machine, dental x-rays, IM3 dental machine, ultrasound and fluid pumps.
* Proficiency in veterinary nursing practices and procedures with a strong knowledge base.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Availability to work weekends, and preferably speaking mandarin as well.
