The Role
We are seeking passionate and experienced educators to join our Learning Mentor Team at our Caulfield Campus. A Learning Mentor would ideally be a teacher who is a team player, loves learning and can inspire students to thrive wholistically in their learning and wellbeing.
There are two opportunities available:
* Full time, fixed term (Terms 1 and 2) commencing in Term 1, 2025 (Parental leave cover)
* 0.8FTE, fixed term (Term 2) commencing in Term 2, 2025 (Long Service Leave cover)
Learning Mentors practice exclusively with an individual from class groups to enhance student learning through active cycles of inquiry, action and reflection. The Mentor collaboratively plans and teaches with their classes’ subject-specific teachers to differentiate the learning for the students, advocating for each student's learning. Mentors identify emerging learning or wellbeing opportunities and purposefully connect students, parents, subject teachers and Head of House to enhance student's learning and wellbeing.
Key Duties
* Create a productive and safe environment that promotes learning
* Focus on the development of students’ General Capabilities/IB MYP Approaches to Learning Skills.
* Provide regular feedback to all stakeholders
* Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong staff learning
* Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.
Skills and Experience
* Teaching qualifications with specialisation and experience in a specific learning area
* Experience embedding the Approaches to Learning (IB) or General Capabilities (ACARA) skills across a broad range of curriculum areas
* Strong literacy and numeracy teaching experience to support student growth
* Hold a current VIT Registration
