As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting project engineering activities across various capital expenditure and process enhancement initiatives.
The role encompasses all stages from initial project conception to final implementation, including support for maintenance teams as required. You'll lead and manage a team of project engineers, design draughtsmen, and contractor employees engaged in site work specific to their projects, with a focus on safe working practices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Undertake responsibilities related to design, development, procurement, installation, and commissioning, adhering to project procedures.
2. Prepare detailed governance structures, project plans, and progress reports.
3. Develop electrical engineering requirements and specifications for plant/process improvements and enhancements, incorporating risk assessments, management of change documentation, process safety considerations, and hazard/operability considerations (HAZOP's).
4. Prepare detailed project plans and progress reports.
5. Ensure adherence to relevant sections of Engineering Standards, HSE guidance, and Codes of Practice.
6. Provide engineering and technology support to plant engineers and manufacturing teams.
7. Maintain awareness of engineering equipment developments and applications relevant to the role, ensuring ongoing personal professional development.
8. Produce project reports, providing transparent control information (scope/time/financial/risks) for stakeholders.
9. Compile cost and resource forecast data.
Required Skills and Competencies:
1. A Prince '2' qualification or similar project management certification.
2. Experience in planning and implementing capital projects, along with managing and controlling company and external contractor personnel.
3. A working knowledge of machinery supply regulations.
4. Familiarity with Construction Design and Management regulations is desirable.
5. An appreciation of SAP budgetary control, capital accounts, and capital scheme authorization procedures is necessary.
6. Knowledge of steel conditions of contracts, commercial terms, and payment conditions for equipment procurement, linked to performance/application/end-user criteria.
7. Relevant experience in electrical technologies associated with continuous strip coating lines for metallic and painted products, as well as an understanding of cold rolling and finishing operations.
