The Approvals Officer is accountable for the effective and efficient management of the Airports Planning and Development Approvals, comprising the Airport Building Approval processes. This includes:
* The receipt, registration and processing of applications
* Coordination and oversight of the workflow process
* Assisting with general enquiries in relation to the status of applications.
* Liaising with internal and stakeholders
* Provision of approval related information as required.
* Manage and coordinate Airport Building Approvals including:
o Receive, register and process building applications.
o Verify that adequate information (including fees paid) has been provided.
o Coordinate and oversee the workflow process.
o Track and monitor applications and update registers and systems.
o Follow up on compliance matters.
o Assist with general enquiries in relation to the status of building applications.
o Provide approval related information as required.
o Ensure Building application status report is uploaded onto the Airport website as per requirements.
o Ensure the process meets the airports regulartary requirements.
o Liaison with the Commonwealth Airport Building Controller (as needed).
o Continued process improvement working with internal stakeholders to ensure the process is easy and efficient for all users.
* Manage and coordinate Airport Development Approvals including:
o Receive, register and process development applications.
o Coordinate and oversee the workflow process, working closely with the Urban Planner.
o Assist with general enquiries in relation to the status of development applications.
o Provide approval related information as required.
* Assist with the preparation and management of the process for Master Plans and Major Development Plans including:
o Assist with the management of consultants, including preparatory tasks related to tenders and contracts and purchase orders.
o Assist with the coordnation of publishing the documentation and consultation activites inline with the Airports Act.
o Document control.
o Other duties as required by the team to meet legislative, budget and cost outcomes.

Essential
* Tertiary qualification related to building industry
(facilities management / construction / development)
* Satisfactory completion of secondary schooling to tertiary acceptance standard.
* Sound knowledge of the Building Industry
* Well developed oral, written and interpersonal skills
* Highly developed organisational skills and initiative and contribute in a team environment.
* High level computer skills, with a sound knowledge of Microsoft suite of packages.
* Significant experience in an administrative role in a regulated environment.
* Sound knowledge of office procedures and systems.
Desirable
* Drivers Licence.
* Knowledge of applicable legislation, standards, guidelines, relevant to the position.
* Experience with Building Approval processes
* Experience in the Aviation Industry
