About Us Nirbhau Nirvair Pty Ltd. (ABN: ) is a well-established hospitality business operating across multiple locations in Perth. We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate cook to join our team at Little Laika Restaurant, one of the busiest and most popular dining spots in the area.
With a high volume of customers and a rapidly growing reputation, we are looking for a dedicated professional to ensure smooth kitchen operations and uphold our high culinary standards .
Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook dishes according to the menu and special dietary requirements. Ensure portion control, seasoning, and plating consistency in line with restaurant standards. Maintain a clean, hygienic, and methodical work environment. Adhere to food safety and personal hygiene standards. Perform mise-en-place for daily menu preparation. Use and maintain knives properly, ensuring regular honing and sharpening. Examine the quality of raw ingredients to ensure consistent food standards. Regulate stove and oven temperatures for optimal cooking results. Follow HACCP principles, maintaining records for cooking, cooling, defrosting, and storage. Prevent cross-contamination by storing raw and cooked food separately at recommended temperatures. Store fresh meat supplies in refrigerators or freezers following industry standards. Train kitchen staff in cooking procedures to maintain consistency. Clean workstations and equipment after use to ensure a tidy and efficient kitchen. Assist in menu planning and design with the manager. Help manage stock inventory and procure high-quality raw ingredients. Skills & Experience Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (mandatory). Minimum one year of experience in a similar role (preferred). Strong enthusiasm and motivation for the culinary industry. Ability to work independently and within a team. Friendly, positive, and approachable attitude. Knowledge of OH&S and food safety regulations. Flexibility to work 7 days a week, including weekends, split shifts, and public holidays.
