Mission Australia's Transition to Work works with young people aged 15-24 who have left school early, or who are having difficulty finding employment. We help young people to develop the skills and confidence they need to move into work or ongoing education (including apprenticeships and traineeships), and we provide no-cost employment services for employers looking to recruit young workers.
Working from both the Taree and Tuncurry offices you will work in a fast-paced environment supporting young people to gain sustainable employment and/or education and help them to overcome their vocational and non-vocational barriers to employment.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
* Work with approximately 50 young people to help them gain sustainable employment or education opportunities
* Conduct assessments to determine barriers to employment.
* Develop and record individualised Job Plans for person
* Develop and implement individual and group training workshops
* Develop and manage strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders including Centrelink, Jobactive, Housing, Mental Health Services and relevant youth agencies.
* Undertake a range of participant marketing and promotion activities to introduce them to employers including cold calling, direct marketing activities introduction and interview support.
* Undertake job-matching activities to facilitate job placements.
Requirements for Success:
* Experience in Youth Services, Jobactive Services or case management is highly desirable.
* Ideally Tertiary qualifications in youth, employment services, career counselling, health, community services or related field but not required
* Experience in working with vulnerable people/ and or young people.
* A proven track record in achieving KPIs.
* Experience in administration.
* Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office packages and other operating systems.
* Flexibility to travel across a region as required.
* A current Driver’s Licence
