About the Role:
* This is a senior leadership role in our newsroom, based on the Sunshine Coast.
* You will oversee the sourcing and creation of compelling content across print and digital platforms.
* You will drive a content strategy that engages new and existing audiences across multiple platforms.
* You will work under deadline pressure in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
* You will mentor, manage, and motivate journalists to deliver unique quality content that drives conversation and reader engagement.
* You will understand digital data and use it in planning quality content.
* You will collaborate with other regional teams within the division to deliver state-wide outcomes.
* You will set the tone in the newsroom and create a positive and productive working environment to help journalists perform at their best.
About You:
* You are a strong digital newsroom leader with exceptional news judgment.
* You have extensive previous reporting and newsroom experience.
* You have experience overseeing the writing of quality content to tight deadlines.
* You thrive on the challenge of meeting business targets and reader expectations then actively look to exceed them.
* You understand and have experience in digital storytelling as well as print.
* You are willing to embrace change and demonstrate agility in a fast-paced sector.
* You are a self-starter who can maintain high levels of personal organisation and time management.
* You understand social media, SEO, digital data.
* You are a team player with excellent communication skills.
* You are able to network in the community and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
