About the position: An exciting opportunity has come available for a Mechanical Supervisor within the Major Overhauls Team based in Khancoban, NSW. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and availability of Snowy Hydro assets by leading the mechanical maintenance team in the planning, execution, and completion of major maintenance events, including the installation, overhaul, and defect rectification of regional assets. Key Responsibilities: Leading and coordinating a team of mechanical tradespeople to ensure all overhaul work meets the expectations of safety, quality, and schedule. Collaborating with the Outage Coordinator to ensure the mechanical team’s work is appropriately scoped, planned, resourced, and scheduled, aligning with Snowy Hydro’s outage work processes. Developing and refining outage work packs, continuously improving the standard of overhaul planning, and overseeing execution to ensure timely and high-quality outcomes. Managing and maintaining the team’s capacity by monitoring leave, training, and competency development needs to ensure ongoing team growth and effectiveness. Actively supervise the execution of scheduled overhaul tasks. Ensure accurate and timely capture of work completion and labour hour time confirmation entries. Provide feedback to the outage planner and outage coordinator for the continuous improvement of work management system information. About you: A Certificate in Mechanical Trade or equivalent qualification. Experience in a supervisory role or equivalent. Proven ability to plan and manage overhaul/shutdown tasks from scoping and job planning to execution and close-out, including the development of accurate as-built documentation. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a solid understanding of mechanical installation, maintenance, testing, commissioning, and monitoring procedures. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating an ability to motivate, coach, and mentor team members to achieve business outcomes.
