About the opportunity:
This is a pivotal role in which you will manage a small team of project managers and be responsible for the overall management of production projects from order stage through to final delivery & site follow up.
Your key objectives will be to drive project performance to achieve tendered objectives and targets in a way that encourages continued business with head contractors in the construction / infrastructure industries and ensure the timely delivery of quality products and service that meet the expectations of our customers.

4. Producing manufacturing and delivery programs to all project stakeholders and producing regular updates for delivery On-Time-In-Full
5. Ensuring correct specifications and quality
6. Reviewing and assessing contracts, specifications and drawings to limit Humes' exposure to potential risks and our ability to comply by producing obligations summaries.
7. In conjunction with Production, ensuring Bill of Materials (BOMs) & Material Masters reflect the final estimates to proactively encourage a reduction in Production Variance (PV)
8. Monitoring project budgets in liaison with operational stakeholders to ensure spending is controlled to meet financial targets.
9. Ensuring specialised, non-stock items for each allocated projects (e.g. moulds, reinforcing, cast in plates, etc.) are correctly detailed in the procurement process to ensure accurate and timely delivery to plan.
10. Continuous improvement in tendering and quoting, incl. an active involvement in the development of new and innovative ways to improve the bottom line of the business.
About You:
11. Qualifications in or a sound understanding of civil engineering principles.
12. Experience in Precast, Concrete and/ or related industries i.e. Construction, Steel, heavy manufacturing will be advantageous.
13. Knowledge including Quantity Surveying, Estimating and Tendering
14. Extensive project management experience
15. Ability to read drawings.
16. A good understanding of the cost drivers of the business
17. Strong interpersonal / communication skills
18. In-depth knowledge of contractual matters and a high level of commercial awareness.
19. Proactive approach to managing time, cost, quality and OH&S issues with outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
20. Sound skills in Microsoft Office and SAP
