Electrical HV Project Engineer
Major HV Projects, Full-time, Permanent
Office based with regular site visits
Our client is seeking an experienced HV Electrical Project Engineer to support their growth in utility and renewable high-voltage power solutions in QLD.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide electrical support to construction and commissioning crews
* Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive transactions for goods and services
* Determine project responsibilities by identifying phases and elements, assigning personnel, and reviewing contractor bids
* Interpret substation secondary systems, design specifications, documentation, and reports for site implementation
* Determine project schedules by studying plans and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements
* Provide technical input into procurement, including execution and management of the procurement process
* Manage subcontractor coordination functions, including technical support during construction, quality, contracts, claims, variations, and audits
* Estimate budgets, generate proposals, and work within budget constraints
* Summarize data and report on test results
About You:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
* Relevant experience as a Project Engineer on High Voltage construction, particularly Transmission & Substation projects
* In-depth knowledge of the High Voltage infrastructure industry
* Understanding of project financial management, forecasting, procurement, design, and contracts management functions
* Strong communication skills, working with all levels of stakeholders
* Working knowledge of engineering codes and safety standards
* Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external parties (Program teams, stakeholders)
* Attention to detail and logical approach to work
Requirements:
* Full working rights in Australia
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum
