If so, this is the opportunity for you We are seeking a dynamic EL1 Secretariat Manager to lead a dedicated team providing secretariat support to high-level inter-jurisdictional committees. This role is central to supporting key decision-making processes and fostering collaboration across government agencies, States and Territories, and wider stakeholders. Your Role As the Secretariat Manager, you will: Manage a team providing high-level secretariat support to several inter-jurisdictional committees. Provide strategic and operational advice to committee Chairs, the Executive team, and other committee secretariats. Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, including with Ministers' offices, committee members, state contract officers, and key stakeholders. Lead governance improvement projects and contribute to strategic planning and stakeholder engagement initiatives. Oversee the development and maintenance of committee workplans, procedures, and governance documents. Contribute to corporate reporting and provide budgetary advice to the Director as part of expenditure review and planning. About You To succeed in this role, you will have: The ability to influence and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Sound judgment in managing relationships with senior leaders across Basin governments. Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance flexibility and attention to detail. The capacity to manage multiple workstreams and lead a team in meeting deadlines and responding to shifting priorities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Essential Requirements The ability to work collaboratively and productively in a virtual and in-person environment across a national network. Relevant administrative and/or secretariat experience, with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and systems such as TechOne, Content Manager, and BoardEffect. Desirable Qualifications Experience in high-level secretariat and/or executive support within a government agency. Advanced minute-taking skills for Boards and Committees. Why Join Us?
