Supervisor - EarthworksAbout Inland RailThe Inland Rail Program is a 1600km rail infrastructure project stretching from Brisbane to Melbourne incorporating new and existing rail track. The program includes the upgrading of existing standard gauge track, the enhancement of existing standard gauge track to cater for double stacking and the construction of new standard gauge links comprising of viaducts, tunnels, rail track, crossings and bridges. More information relating to the project can be found here: Inland RailAbout the opportunityConstruction Supervisors (Earthworks and/or Structures)Work under the leadership of the IRPL Project Management Team in undertaking construction supervision and field verification support activities in order to successfully execute the relevant project in line with Project Schedule, Budget, Safety and Risk targets. The role will provide safety, environmental and quality leadership, supervision and field verification of the contractor delivery activities for the relevant project.Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Site supervision: review, acceptance and implementation of all Workplace Health and Safety Documentation for the projectEnsure the contractor complies with Safety, Environmental and Quality requirement for the projectAssist the Engineering & Design Manager to undertake constructability review with engineering and contractors (safety in design, temporary work requirements)Assist the IRPL Project Management Team to manage all on site enabling works and the interface with internal IRPL & ARTC resources to ensure all material deliveries are completed on time, for all material free issued by Inland RailAssist the IRPL Project Management Team to review and manage project schedules to identify progress, lead times and project sequences with contractorProvide input to weekly on-site site progress reviews with contractor covering safety, progress, key issuesProvide input to pre-starts, toolboxes and lessons learned with the ContractorAssist the IRPL Project Management Team to ensure the Scope of Work is executed in accordance with the contract and specificationsAssist the IRPL Project Management Team in monitoring construction productivity via schedule performance and investigate reasons for less than satisfactory performance, assist in producing recovery plans with contractor where required and reviewing resourcingProvide weekly progress reporting in order to assist with the assessment and approval of contractors progress claimsAbout youTo be successful in this role you will need to have great interpersonal skills, very good at problem solving and an ability to set high standards for self and others.
