Location Profile
Undera Primary School is a small country school with a proud history for serving the local community since 1876. It is situated in the township of Undera, 17 kilometres northwest of Mooroopna. The families of the students who attend the school are typically from farming backgrounds in dairy, broad acre harvesting, orchards or employed in the food processing plants located in Mooroopna, Tatura and Shepparton. The architecture of the school buildings is circa 1886 and are well maintained. The classrooms are well organised and presented.
Our school offers a friendly, calm and supportive learning environment for all students, with caring staff who respect the individual needs of every student. Education is valued as a partnership between school and home, with parents always welcome and encouraged to participate in all school learning and activities.
Undera Primary School¿s values are Respect, Responsibility and Excellence. In 2024 we implemented SWPBS (School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support) and believe that behaviour is learned and strengthened through positive teacher relationships and required ongoing teaching, encouragement and correction. Our Wellbeing program, incorporating SWPBS and Respectful Relationships, teaches students about respect, positive attitudes and behaviours. They learn how to build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence. We focus on developing students socially, emotionally, and academically.
The school¿s teaching and learning program is based on the Victorian Curriculum, with a particular focus on integrating the skills of literacy and numeracy throughout all curriculum areas. Technology is used to support teaching and learning, with all students having access to laptops and ipads.
Specialist programs include Art, Library, STEM, Music, Italian, Wellbeing and Physical Education. We have a School Chaplain every Monday who supports our students, programs and the school community.
The school takes pride in its playground areas, with a new playground and climbing frame built in 2021. Undercover areas enable students to participate in outdoor activities during all seasons. We also have an amazing fitness track which can be used for bike riding, running walking or with our pedal karts.
On the grounds of Undera Primary School is the Undera Kindergarten (independently operated by the Greater City of Shepparton) which is an excellent opportunity for children in our community to move from learning in an early childhood setting to a primary school setting. Throughout the year we combine with the kindergarten for special events, incursions and transition sessions.
