Clough is seeking an experienced Civil QC Inspector to join our new Dampier Bulk Handling Facility (DBHF) project for a FIFO position to Karratha. DBHF is a wharf structure to be built to support the export of urea in bulk quantities through the Port of Dampier. The project will require the demolition and removal of decommissioned marine structures, the construction of a new land-backed wharf, and land redevelopment. Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, the QC Inspector will oversee sub-contractor activities ensuring Quality Control surveillance and testing activities are carried out. This is a FIFO position based in Karratha on a 20/8 roster, flying from Perth or other capital cities. However, individuals living local to the region are encouraged to apply. Your focus will include: Ensuring the promotion, awareness, and compliance to the Project Quality Management System is maintained. Working cooperatively with Construction, Subcontractors, and Client QA Representatives in a team environment with transparent sharing of information to the benefit of the project. Ensuring quality documentation is implemented to ensure compliance with established codes, standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. Responsible for the management and signing off on Inspection & Test Plans. Representing Contractor sign offs on Project Completions Inspection Test Records. Performing daily inspections in line with Project Specifications. Documenting daily inspections. Validating quality competencies of individuals assigned to construction tasks. Providing input into the weekly quality report. Conducting in-process audits to determine adequacy and effectiveness of quality control activities being performed. Reporting any discrepancies or concerns immediately upon discovery. Managing inspection notifications ensuring attendance of critical activities such as witness and hold points. Communicating inspection findings and evaluating third party inspection report action items. Contacting stakeholders regarding inspection coordination, tracking, results, and highlighting issues or action items. Attending kick-off meetings to address quality contractual requirements and conducting pre-production/pre-inspection meetings with nominated suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure all quality control activities have been understood. Reviewing and approving supplier/sub-contractor project deliverables ensuring alignment and compliance to specified standards and specifications. Stopping progress of works when any non-conformance with quality requirements is identified. Proposing and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. What you will bring to the team: 7 years+ industry experience in a similar role within an engineering and construction environment. Civil Engineer or Trade Qualification. Auditor Certification. Ability to communicate in a disciplined and constructive manner. Ability to review and interpret technical requirements in the Contracts. Strong commitment to safety and wellbeing of people.
