You will join a project working in partnership with The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH), Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service Brisbane (ATSICHS Brisbane), and 2Spirits to improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTQIA people’s access, utilisation, engagement and visibility in Aboriginal primary care services in Queensland. The successful candidate will be appointed as a Senior Research Technician (HEW 6) or a Principal Research Technician (HEW 7) commensurate with their experience. Well-developed problem-solving skills, with an ability to forward plan, prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and work with a high level of adaptability, both independently and as part of a team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to produce clear, succinct documentation. The ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in a research environment. Principal Research Technician (HEW 7) Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples and the LGBTQIA community. Completion of a post graduate qualifications with subsequent experience in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Demonstrated research-relevant knowledge and skills with expertise in a wide range of specialist and general research techniques, including ability to coordinate and conduct qualitative data collection and analysis. Leadership skills, including the ability to create and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders and research partners. Significant experience of working in a higher education, research institution or Indigenous health service, or the capability to quickly acquire this knowledge and apply in the workplace. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to produce clear, succinct research documentation and the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of research and scientific staff.
