The Municipality of West Perth is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Part Time Payroll Administrator, as our team is growing.

The fully serviced community of Mitchell is the main population center of West Perth and there are opportunities for rural living in nearby hamlets and villages. Key ResponsibilitiesReview timesheets, vacation requests to ensure accuracy and that it was approved by the appropriate staff member.Process timely and accurate payroll and payroll remittances, ensuring all statutory deductions and leaves are properly processed.Process timely and accurate tracking of vacation, sick and overtime banks.Process payroll documentation to ensure legislative requirements are met including but not limited to year-end, T4, record of employments, OMERS, reconciliations, pensionable and insurable earnings review, reports etc.Review and input onboarding documentation provided by HR for payroll purposes including but not limited to tax forms, staff information, OMERS, and direct deposit.Run and review reports monthly to ensure accuracy.Assist with ensuring payroll documentation is audit ready.Prepare payroll calculations for severance, terminations, retroactive payment, vacation pay, salary changes, including step increase and approved cost of living adjustments.Assist with the preparation of Council and Committee remuneration annual reports.Ensure all files and documents are maintained, stored accurately, and information is updated as appropriate.Responsible for data entry to the payroll system to produce a bi-weekly and monthly payroll for all staff, council/board/committee members, including verification of authorization, verifying pay calculation/hours and distribution of payroll statements.What it Takes to do the JobCollege Diploma in business administration, or related discipline is required.Certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) through the Canadian Payroll Association, considered an asset.Minimum two years applicable experience.Public sector experience, considered an asset.What Will Set You ApartWe're eager to learn about your personal attributes, that will enhance our team in addition to your qualifications.

Hourly Pay Range: $27.63 to $34.54.
The position is eligible to participate in OMERS pension.
