This is a vital specialized position within the Health Solutions Business Unit. In this role, you will deliver essential database support for the design, development, and maintenance of key solutions using Informix and Microsoft SQL. We're looking for someone with a solid grasp of database administration for both Informix and MS SQL Server. This includes key areas like performance optimization, monitoring, stored procedures, indexing, scripting, scheduled maintenance, and backup procedures. Your expertise in these domains will be invaluable to our team! Additionally, this position involves providing general systems administration, programming, and application support.
This position presents a stimulating opportunity for client interaction, in which you will engage with private health insurance companies while developing PHI products and related initiatives. Your key performance indicators will comprise the resolution of tickets within established service level agreements (SLAs), in addition to ensuring that projects are completed on schedule, within budgetary constraints, and with a commitment to high standards of quality.
This role presents a unique chance to influence product development as a Database Administrator, all while leading a talented team and partnering with a leading software product company. You'll take charge of guiding our DBAs in the creation, implementation, and support of Informix and MS SQL solutions.

Requirements
What you will do to be successful in this role
* Perform programming & application support relevant to database technologies and systems integration for supported environments
* Act as a technical escalation point and provide Level 2 customer support. You will bring in an experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems
* Oversee, respond to, and report on environmental metrics (both application and platform) in alignment with established customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs) pertaining to availability, performance, and capacity
* Join the on-call support team to address incidents that occur outside regular working hours and during public holidays.
* You will have a solid background in Database Administration, particularly with Informix Server or MS SQL Server
* Hands-on experience in maintaining Informix and 4GL solutions
* You are proficient in shell scripting languages (Perl, Python, PowerShell) along with application development, debugging, and troubleshooting expertise. Demonstrated ability to implement operational automation through scripts.
* You are very skilled in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), leveraging native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. You also have a strong understanding of indexes, index management, and statistics
* You will have familiarity with Linux Server environments (SuSE, RedHat) platforms
