Thomas Foods International Tamworth is seeking a skilled Engineering Technician Mechanical to join our Maintenance Team in Tamworth.Benefits and PerksDirect, Full Time employmentPermanent PositionsOn-the-job training providedAttractive, above award pay rates in accordance with TFIT Maintenance Technician Enterprise Agreement 2024About the RoleDue to an increase in production requirements, Thomas Foods International are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician – Mechanical to join the team at our Tamworth facility.The main objective of the role is to maintain, service and repair plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations with a focus on upholding safety and maximizing production in the mechanical operations of the manufacturing facility.The main areas of responsibility include ensuring the site is fully health, safety and environmentally compliant, ongoing preventative maintenance of all plant and equipment, resolving operational or equipment problems safely and diligently, and working well as a valued member of the site maintenance team.This position is full time, 42 hours per week with the Maintenance department running a rotating roster, with additional overtime when required. Salary on offer is 115k, plus 11.5% superannuation.Skills & ExperienceSkills and experience include:Understanding and applying quality control techniques;Good interpersonal and communication skills;Keyboard skills;Discretion appropriate to classification level;Ability to perform work under limited supervision individually or in a team environment;Operating lifting equipment incidental to work;Main DutiesConduct regular inspections and maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operation and minimum downtime.Carry out the site’s preventative maintenance program and attend to breakdowns, using technical knowledge and sound problem-solving skills to resolve issues.Be responsible for the mechanical maintenance of services on shift: hot water temperature, hand wash water temp, hot/cold water supply, air supply, electrical services, refrigeration and defrosting cycles, as well as irrigation and effluent services.Perform mechanical maintenance on site equipment such as blade stop band saws, Jarvis equipment, Cryovac rotary equipment, Multivac tray sealers, modular belt conveyors, refrigeration equipment, hot water systems, boilers, light stainless steel fabrication work, and overhead chain conveyor systems.Set up, commission, maintain and operate sophisticated maintenance, production and test equipment and/or systems involving the application of computer operating skills.Work on various machinery and equipment hydraulically and pneumatically controlled by complex digital or analogue control systems.Document maintenance and repair work, creating detailed reports on interventions and outcomes.Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.Qualifications and ExperienceCertificate III or higher/equivalent with a background in mechanical applications in hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting preferred.Minimum 1 year experience with mechanical products.Knowledge of tools and machines, concepts and methodologies of manufacturing.Industrial Maintenance background preferred, not essential.Great work ethic.Genuine concern for safety.Ability to thrive in a high-performance environment.Please note a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening will be conducted for short-listed candidates.About TFITA 100% Australian owned and operated Company, Thomas Foods International Tamworth (TFIT) is an industry leader in the small stock processing industry.
