The role and what we are looking for The Category Specialist role is responsible for assisting the development of Category Management across the Capricorn Preferred Supplier function. This is achieved by conducting analysis of different market categories in the Automotive and allied industries to facilitate the development of associated market studies and Category Management Plans. Some of your key responsibilities will include The role assists the Head of Business Development in developing and managing a Category Management approach to the management of Preferred Suppliers. The Category Specialist will focus on developing an appropriate Category structure and undertaking market analysis into the various categories to support the development of category management plans. Develop and Implement Category Management Structure Analysis of the existing Preferred Supplier product and service range to understand the breadth, scope and value of the supply market. Analysis of the existing Membership base to define the markets served and corresponding value. Broad scan the existing industries served to consider category approaches taken by participants to inform Capricorn's approach to category management. Develop, maintain and continually review a Category management structure for implementation that allows targeted sales, marketing and product development. Market Analysis Undertake detailed market research by Category and State to identify key stakeholders and market segments Conduct competition analysis by category and market Undertake heatmap analysis to align Member location to supply to provide insight into supplier coverage Commercial Model Development Develop by Category, Commercial models by considering the margins by category of suppliers, by region and by subcategory. Develop and maintain a database of product and service margins and associated Service. What will you bring? Proven experience in market research and analysis. Experience in Automotive or related industrial industries. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organisation and varied stakeholders. Experience More than five years in market research and analysis roles. Qualifications Tertiary qualification in business, marketing, commerce.
