Join the Space revolution and make the impossible, possible.Role SummaryThe Hardware Calibration Engineer demonstrates a working knowledge in following, developing and executing unique measurements, repairing and calibrating a wide variety of equipment in different disciplines, and detecting and resolving difficult problems. The Hardware Calibration Engineer works alongside Ground Terminal Engineers in support of critical mission equipment supporting a unique and exciting mission in the Outback of Australia.Services, repairs and calibrates test and measuring equipment which fail to respond to normal diagnostic and corrective practice under supervision or independently.Follows developed diagnostic techniques and adapts equipment to accomplish necessary repairs and measurements.Adapts measuring equipment, standards and techniques to accomplish unique measurements beyond their routine uses.Documents procedures, methods and systems for performing measurements.The successful candidate must also be able to satisfy the following physical demands: Ability to work on elevated structures at heights of 100 feet, Ability to climb stairs ( 300 stairs/day), Ability to lift and carry 45lbs, Ability to work in narrow and confined spaces. Assists equipment users in devising methods and procedures for obtaining measurements and may be required to operate the equipment/systems for unique or difficult measurements.Participates in on-the-job training and related formal education.Operates computer software for instrument following established formats and programs.Product Service troubleshooting which includes troubleshooting down to the component level.The ideal candidate will have strong experience in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, performing test/calibration procedures and asking the right questions for diagnostics.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related discipline plus (2) years of technical or engineering experience;OR Master's degree plus (0) years of technical or engineering experience; OR (6) years of technical or engineering experience in lieu of degree.Familiarity working with laboratory standards.Capable in AC/DC, RF, Physical-dimensional Test and Measuring Equipment.Proficient in the use of calibrated hand tools.Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance, SCI access and complete a counterintelligence polygraph examination prior to start date.Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated experience in progressively more complicated calibration and maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of precision measuring equipment and calibration systems.Knowledge of measurement theory application and processes in more than one discipline.PMEL experience.Possess system experience or knowledge in regard to antenna/ground hardware.Active and in scope TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.Salary Range: $73,900 - $110,900The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
