WARD CLERK - Urgent Care
Permanent Part Time - 16 hours per week.
This position is inclusive of weekdays and weekends.
Colac Area Health is a values based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services.
Urgent Care is a small and busy but challenging department providing emergency care in the Colac Otway Shire. As the largest health care facility in the area we provide emergency care to 10,000 patients per year in collaboration with hospital medical officers, nurse practitioners, Barwon Mental Health and local general practitioners. We have a diverse patient population encompassing: cardiac, respiratory, trauma, paediatrics, gynaecology, mental health etc.
The ward clerk is a valuable member of the team and contributes to the provision of care in an administrative role. The Ward clerk provides compassion, empathy and understanding to patients and their families whilst maintaining a professional appearance and approach to the role at all times.
What’s required:
Outstanding customer service and friendly, professional manner
Relevant experience and expertise in administration procedures
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
High level of accuracy and attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload
Excellent problem solving abilities
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
A commitment to continuing education and professional development
