The role and responsibilities include: Work proactively across the program to deliver financial management support including financial performance monitoring and reporting in accordance with policies and procedures.Coordinate internal budget preparation (both capital and operating), financial performance analysis and reporting.Manage and analyse data, business activity and performance indicators to deliver timely high quality financial performance reports of both capital and operating for the program with insightful analysis and sound financial forecasts.Provide expert and timely advice on internal budget and financial policy and budget support to program stakeholders.Evaluate and interrogate financial data to ensure the accuracy of financial information in reports and systems.Advise on key issues related to the program budget.Your main duties & comprehension: Comprehensive understanding of the Australian Government's financial framework and the accrual accounting principles in a public sector environment.Experience in the use of life cycle cost estimation methods, risk and uncertainty analysis and a high level of data modelling, data analysis and financial forecasting techniques for capital and operating.An advanced understanding of International and Australian Accounting Standards, Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013, and relevant Commonwealth and legal concepts and issues in the context of complex accounting matters.Demonstrated depth and experience in developing and maintaining collaborative finance business partnerships, including the provision of strategic financial advice, identification of financial risks and opportunities, with a strong focus on budget development, management and analysis.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including an ability to present technical information to different audiences that facilitates decision making and meets organisational objectives.What you will need to succeed includes: Essential requirements: Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce or equivalent are essential.Professional certification / membership of a relevant professional association such as Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).Desirable: 5 years or more of business partnering experience and providing strong technical accounting advice to stakeholders.Experience in managing finances within large, complex government programs.About You: Strong financial and time management abilities.A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.Ability to manage workloads, work under pressure and meet deadlines.Have experience in a similar role.Disciplined with remarkable organisational skills to meet targets and purpose.Effective and efficient use of time to ensure a productive workflow.Drive to succeed.Baseline Security Clearance with ability to achieve NV1.What you need to do now:If you or anyone you know is interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV.Alternatively, you can email your CV directly to or contact me on .
