About the role: Reporting to the Senior Analyst – Financial Improvement and Capability, Analyst is responsible for supporting the identification and analysis of opportunities to improve the consistency in how financial reporting is delivered across the sector to better enable benchmarking across the hospital sector and develop strategies and materials to implement improvements in conjunction with health services. The Senior Analyst role will work with a small team and contribute to complex analysis and analysis design as need. About you: A professional with experience in health service funding models, service delivery, and improvement, with the ability to analyse findings and contribute to effective strategies and programs. You have a strong understanding of hospital financial information and can interpret datasets to identify trends and assess effectiveness, supporting informed decision-making. Your insights enable you to provide well-reasoned, evidence-based advice. With sound business and commercial acumen, you can optimise value and manage risks through informed decisions. Your stakeholder management skills allow you to build effective relationships and respond to diverse needs. You apply critical thinking to problem-solving within established frameworks and can navigate ambiguity when required. Qualifications / Specialist Expertise Qualifications A bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Health Administration, Data Science, or a related field A high degree of understanding and knowledge of the health system funding is highly important. Knowledge of the Victorian budget processes, relevant departmental systems and environments is desirable. Specialist Expertise Experience with financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting to analyse funding scenarios and revenue streams is desirable. Knowledge of Victorian public hospital operations, funding models/NWAU, and the impact of government funding, policy and reform on operations.
