The Opportunity: Survey Management Solutions has an exciting new opportunity for a Utility Locator/Ground Penetration Permit Co-Ordinator to join our high performing team working on a variety of projects across Victoria!
Coordinate the issuance, tracking, and approval of Ground Penetration Permits (GPP) to ensure safe and compliant excavation and ground disturbance activitiesEnsure all ground penetration activities comply with workplace health and safety (WHS) legislation and organisational policies, preventing accidents or damage to underground assets.Verify that all permit applications adhere to relevant regulations, codes of practice, and industry standards for excavation and ground disturbanceConduct or oversee risk assessments for proposed ground penetration activities, identifying potential hazards and ensuring proper controls are in placeAct as the central point of contact between project teams, utility providers, and regulatory bodies to facilitate efficient and effective permit approvalsEnsure the protection of underground infrastructure, such as pipelines, cables, and utilities, by coordinating site surveys, including Dial Before You Dig (DBYD) assessments and utility locatesMaintain accurate records of all permits, risk assessments, and approvals.
Provide regular reports on permit status, compliance metrics, and related activities to management.Provide guidance and training to teams on the GPP process, safe excavation practices, and compliance requirements to enhance operational awareness and safetyIdentify opportunities to streamline the GPP process and improve safety outcomes through feedback, audits, and lessons learnedAssist in the management of incidents related to ground penetration, including coordinating with relevant authorities and implementing corrective actionsLocation of Underground Services using EMR and GPR when requiredAssist and work with NDD operations, survey and crew leaders when requiredAssisting and advising in the development of Asset Protection PlansHere's what we are looking for… A person with strong underground utility experience that is wanting to become part of a new and developing team in emerging markets.
