About the role As a SocialWorker - Truancy, you will be a crucial member of our StudentSupport Services (SSS) team, working closely with schools,preschools, children and families to address attendance,engagement, and retention issues. You'll play a vital role indeveloping evidence-based interventions for children and families,at school, in the community and through home visits. This is anopportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children andyoung people facing complex challenges, including trauma, learningdifficulties, and behavioural issues.
Key responsibilities
1. Apply comprehensive assessment processes to identify factors contributing to attendance and engagement issues.
2. Develop and implement evidence-based interventions, including proactive, targeted, and intensive strategies.
3. Provide professional peer support to other Social Work - Truancy staff and supervise students on placement.
4. Undertake case coordination and management, collaborating with other multi-disciplinary team members, the school, and external agencies.
5. Contribute to the ongoing evaluation of services and explore opportunities for improvement and innovation.
6. Maintain effective communication with students, families, schools and other stakeholders to ensure proper service delivery practices.

Qualifications:
Essential: An appropriate degree or equivalent which giveseligibility for full membership of the Australian Association ofSocial Workers
Requirements
7. Valid driver's license and be willing to travel.
8. Demonstrated experience in conducting psychosocial assessments and case management within the Social Work discipline.
9. Ability to engage effectively with other professionals to develop evidence-based strategies for children and young people.
10. Knowledge of current research and practices related to trauma, complex learning difficulties, and behavioural issues.
11. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team
Special Conditions Thesuccessful applicant is required to gain a Department for HumanServices (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to beingemployed which is required to be renewed every five years beforeexpiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC(Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care)Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online(Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated everythree years.
