Assistant Media and Public Relations AdviserFull time, 12-months fixed term opportunityProvide the first point of contact for media enquiries at the University of SydneyBase Salary $99K + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunity The Assistant Media and PR Adviser (Central) reports to the Head, Central Media and PR and will work in close collaboration with media and public relations staff across the University to ensure alignment and coordination of media activity.In this busy role, supporting the central media team as the first point of contact for media enquiries at the University, you will also carry out regular media monitoring and compile and distribute media monitoring reports, manage the rostering for out of hours media enquiries and be responsible for providing administrative support to the broader team.About you Demonstrated 'news judgement' and the ability to manage and direct media enquiries with the appropriate level of urgency.Ability to assist the Media and PR Advisers in identifying, developing, writing, and promoting stories and cross-channel content about University-wide initiatives, centres, and public programs.Good experience in and understanding of media operations.Experience providing media advice and public relations support to senior stakeholders.Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to apply.
