About the Office of Student Experience & Marketing (SEM)
The Office of Student Experience & Marketing at Western Sydney University is committed to attracting prospective students and enriching the student journey. Through targeted recruitment and engaging student events, SEM plays a pivotal role in enhancing the university experience.
The Opportunity
We have multiple opportunities available for enthusiastic and motivated Events Assistants to join the SEM team. In these roles, you will support the development, execution, and assessment of an integrated events program aimed at both recruitment and current student engagement. This is a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in planning and executing impactful events within a university setting.
As an Events Assistant, you’ll be involved in every stage of event planning, from initial brainstorming to post-event evaluation. Working closely with both internal and external stakeholders, you’ll build strong relationships and ensure smooth coordination of activities. Key responsibilities include booking venues, managing logistics, tracking budgets, and addressing challenges proactively. Administrative tasks include event documentation, finance management, website updates, registration systems management, and maintaining event equipment and supplies. Some weekend work may be required to support events.
About You
To excel in these roles, you will have a degree in marketing, events, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience in event planning. You bring the ability to manage multiple projects under pressure, with strong attention to detail, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
