Below is a brief description of this vacancyThis page outlines the vacancy and the key skills and responsibilities for the role.Greensborough, AustraliaReference: 6699788Casual position, $57.91 per hour, up to full time hours with flexibilityCustomer First Focus - our community is central to all that we doFlexible working arrangements available - balance life and workJoin our Strategic Waste and Circularity team as a Waste Project Officer at Nillumbik.What a typical day will look like;Reporting to the Senior Waste Management Specialist, you will:Lead the delivery of projects, programs and process reviews that support and improve Council's waste and recycling servicesManage the delivery of grants to support waste education and engagement projects and programsMaintain service information on Council's website, in social and/or other media and Council publications and respond to community enquiries about best practice waste managementSupport delivery, monitoring and review of council's kerbside collection and processing contractsLead aspects of and assist with planning and implementation of requirements under the Circular Economy (Waste Reduction and Recycling) Act 2021Monitor and evaluate council's bin inspection program.What you will bring to the role;A recognised tertiary qualification in environment, sustainability, project management, communications, social sciences or related field, and/or demonstrated relevant skills and experience commensurate with the requirements of the roleRelevant and varied experience in managing and delivering waste and resource recovery projects, programs and service improvements within local governmentAbility to bring together and facilitate project working groups to achieve desired outcomesExperience in Pathway, Konect and Open Cities desirable.Why should you join us?
