10th October, 2024This position is well-suited for an assistant accountant or accountant with a minimum of 2 years of experience.Alternatively, if you have a background in public practice, specifically in audit, business services, or tax, and are seeking a transition to a commercial accounting role, this opportunity may be ideal for you.Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, including month-end entries.Other responsibilities include overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll functions and ensuring compliance with the statutory obligations of the company.The Responsibilities include:• Managing the daily financial operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll.• Responsible for end-of-month accruals, journals, and reconciliations to ensure integrity of the General Ledger.• BAS and FBT compliance preparation.• Assist in maintenance of the asset register of the group.• Assist in preparation of management reports to management.• Liaise with management and staff regarding account queries.• Assist with the end-of-year annual audit process.• Other duties as required.Skills and Experience:• Ability to problem solve and think strategically.• Strong organisational skills.• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.• Excellent attention to detail.• Advanced communication and interpersonal skills - written, verbal and oral.• Ability to manage your time to meet reporting deadlines.• Good working knowledge of computer technologies, including Microsoft Office suite of programs.Qualifications:• A degree in accounting (or similar) or Cert IV in Finance.(essential)• A minimum of 2+ years' experience in a similar role or 2+ years' experience working in a public practice.• A current open Driver's License - essentialFor more information, contact Fiona at The AgWay Recruitment on 0447 650 143. #J-18808-Ljbffr
