Control Systems Engineer
As an Automation and Controls System Engineer, you will leverage your experience to design, implement, and maintain advanced automation and instrumentation systems.
You'll join a team at the forefront of pioneering solutions in Process Control, PLC, SCADA, Safety, Telemetry, and Industrial IT. Working with the dynamic Industry X team, you will play a key role in tackling exciting challenges and creating impactful systems to support our clients in process intensive industries.

Our Industry X purpose is to complete the promise of Total Enterprise Reinvention. Driving safety, sustainability, productivity and competitive advantage in our clients’ front-line functions. Our Industry X engineering team provides electrical and process control engineering, procurement, construction and management services to the mining, oil and gas, infrastructure, and manufacturing industries across Australia and overseas.
THE WORK:
We are seeking experienced Control Systems Engineers to successfully execute and deliver process control system engineering services.
* System Design and Upgrades: Support PLC and SCADA upgrades, including designing and implementing new systems to enhance operational efficiency.
* Automation and Instrumentation: Support manage and troubleshoot automation and instrumentation systems. Ensuring systems are operating at optimal levels.
* Commissioning and Fault Diagnosis: Support commissioning of new systems and conduct fault diagnosis to swiftly resolve any issues, minimizing downtime and operational disruption.
* Documentation: Produce high-quality technical documentation, including system design specifications, operational procedures, and maintenance manuals.
* Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
* Compliance and Safety: Ensure all systems comply with functional safety standards and contribute to safety audits and assessments. TUV Certification is highly regarded.

Qualifications
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
* Education: Degree-qualified Engineer, Computer Science or a related field.
* Experience: At least 3 years of experience with industrial control systems design, programming, and implementation. Preference for industry experience in mining, chemical, utilities, water, natural resources, or power industries
* Technical Skills:
* Expert knowledge of control system programming languages (ladder logic, structured text, function block etc.)
* Hands-on experience with multiple PLC brands/platforms (e.g. Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider etc.)
* Knowledge of industrial network/communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus etc.)
* Experience with instrumentation/field devices, wiring, terminations
* Schneider M580 Programming will be highly regarded.
* Previous experience with Wonderware (Intouch)
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE / PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
* Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Practical Site experience of automation systems (commissioning and fault-finding experience essential)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent documentation skills with ability to create functional specifications, drawings, manuals, FAT and SAT documents etc.
