Salary: Teacher, $85,610 - $124,046 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023)

Derby District High School (DHS) is seeking an enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their high-quality regional school.

This teaching role specifically caters for Years 7 to 10 Science, Integrated Science (General), Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programs. The school is currently linked to a number of community-based science affiliated programs that encourage our students to think scientifically and creatively with a cultural lens through a Two-Way learning program supported at a regional level.
This role will suit someone who is highly motivated, relationship-focused, and passionate about creating exciting, culturally responsive learning experiences to ignite a desire to learn in students in the sciences.
The successful applicant will ideally be a dedicated and motivated educator who has the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs that are as diverse and varied as the needs of our students. The successful applicant should be well versed in the Western Australian (WA) Curriculum in Science. You will also need to be able to develop and deliver structured, engaging courses to students of varying ability levels. As a Teacher of Science, you should feel confident in your skills and abilities to encourage student passion and appreciation for the learning area by relating student learning to real-world situations and industry. The successful applicant will ideally have the ability to use a range of effective teaching strategies to support and encourage student learning. Applicants who also have current knowledge and understanding of School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) and WA Curriculum are strongly encouraged to apply.
