Are you an experienced Property Officer? Our client is seeking a skilled professional to manage a diverse portfolio of owned and leased properties.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The property officer will manage a portfolio of owned and leased commercial and residential properties, that are located in both urban and remote communities.
This role includes the management of employee and head leases, and service contracts, property maintenance, managing property letting, inspections and preparation of reports and recommendations. This position is part of the Assets, Property and Insurance team and is a Fixed Term Contract (8 months with potential for longer).
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibilities of this position include:
* Prepare and manage leases (Head and Employee Residential), including bond receipting, refunds, property inspections, and reports.
* Manage property/facility contracts, including scoping, negotiating, and letting.
* Coordinate property maintenance and repairs, liaising with contractors and ensuring accurate records of activities.
* Provide advice on office space allocation and prepare reports on the efficient use of facilities.
* Ensure timely resolution of property and facility issues, escalating to the Senior Asset Management Officer when necessary.
* Assist with lodging and managing insurance claims, including investigations and reporting.
* Procure assets and manage risk, supporting infrastructure procurement and insurance benchmarking activities.
* Interpret and implement relevant legislation and standards, particularly related to WHS, property, and facilities.
* Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, fostering compliance, education, and continuous improvement.
* Participate in learning and development and adhere to organizational policies, including WHS and the NLC Code of Conduct.
Essential Requirements for this position include:
* Property management qualifications with at least 2 years' experience.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and asset management systems (e.g., iAuditor).
* Current C Class Driver's Licence, with willingness to travel remotely via 4WD or light aircraft.
* Experience in Housing or Property Management, with knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act 1999 or ability to quickly acquire it.
* Leadership skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and delegate effectively.
* Strong cross-cultural communication skills and experience building productive relationships with stakeholders.
* Ability to interpret and manage legislation, regulations, leases, and contracts.
* Proven customer-focused service with the ability to handle complex priorities.
