Located in beautiful Port Stephens, the Head Butcher/Foreman will play a key role in overseeing production and the running of the cutting room, stock quality and control, packing procedures, production processing, receival processes, order preparations, and overseeing Butchers, Butcher assistants and liaising with warehouse and office administration.
Key Responsibilities Operational management: Oversee the efficient operation of the butchery department while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels, order supplies and implement strategies to minimize waste and enhance cost - effectivness Quality Assurance : Conduct regular inpections to ensure all products and equipment comply with HACCAP and health and safety regulations.
Team Leadership : Lead and develop the butchery team, fostering a positive work environment and ensuing training and motivation.
To succeed in this role, you should have extensive expertise in meat and meat products and food handling.
Proven leadership skills, A proactive attitude, familiarity with warehouse systems, and a background and understanding of HACCP, Food Standards Code, and Allergen Management.
This hands-on position offers growth opportunities in a dynamic environment with a strong focus on quality and service excellence. Previous experience in food service would be advantage.
