With a view to further develop an engaged, innovative and sustainable business, we are now seeking an experienced General Manager, Network Portfolio to join our Network and Business Development senior leadership team. This role will lead the Portfolio Planning and Optimisation, Network and Alternate Solutions and Network Customers Solutions teams to develop an optimised portfolio of solutions for our network.

As the General Manager Network Portfolio, you will lead and manage the Portfolio Planning and Optimisation, Network and Alternate Solutions and Network Customers Solutions teams. You will develop and implement strategies according to organisational objectives to manage the assessment, prioritisation and governance of our infrastructure related expenditure.
Reporting directly to the Executive GM Network and Business Development, this role carries out critical responsibilities that are pivotal to Powerlink’s success.
Specifically you will:
6. Role-model key leadership behaviours and build a high-performance culture within the division
7. Lead the network portfolio function, ensuring that all contributions to organisational priorities and service obligations to stakeholders are fulfilled
8. Prepare long term strategic network related capital and operating expenditure forecasts and provide asset management oversight of current network expenditure
9. Lead and coordinate the development of Powerlink's future Portfolio Plan to ensure that the forward work plan is communicated within the business and achieves safe, cost effective and reliable delivery of electricity transmission services
10. Oversee the systems for portfolio management of operating and capital projects including reviewing the sequencing and priority of projects, refurbishments and maintenance
11. Apply appropriate governance and oversee the development of proposals, co-ordination of estimates, preparation of business cases and approval documentation, including preparation of Board papers if required, to deliver overall optimal portfolio value
12. Lead the development of documentation as required or appropriate, including the Portfolio Plan, the Asset Management Plan, the Transmission Annual Planning Report, area plans and the Regulatory Investment Test for Transmission
An integral member of the Network and Business Development (NBD) leadership team, you will support the Executive GM NBD in achieving the division’s direction through the delivery of strategic priorities.
Your expertise
Professional engineering qualifications will be complemented by your high level of personal drive, resilience, and commitment to deliver sustainable outcomes. You will have significant experience in leading large diverse teams of professional and technical individuals.
With proven capability to lead teams within a major business function, you will demonstrate expertise in developing network plans and major project portfolio coordination of capital and operating project approvals.
You will enjoy collaborating closely with senior leadership to align workforce planning with future divisional needs. Your dedication to fostering a culture of development will be evident as you strive to enhance employee engagement, capability, and ultimately, cultivate a high-performing group ethos.
You are open and adept at working at both the strategic and operational levels, with the ability to translate business strategy into operational plans, ensuring that planning demonstrates measurable, cost-effective delivery of key outcomes and clear alignment to strategic goals.
