About the Role: SustainHealth is assisting a newly established private hospital in Eastern Melbourne to recruit a dedicated and skilled Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) for their Scrub Scout team. As an ANUM, you will play a vital leadership role in assisting with the coordination and management of nursing staff within the theatre environment, ensuring high standards of care and efficiency. Key Details: You will be required to work across a combination of AM and PM shifts, with some Saturday shifts as the hospital becomes fully operational. The hospital will officially open in March 2025, and you will be part of the team that sets the standard for excellence in patient care. The hospital features 4 operating theatres and 1 endoscopy room, and as the hospital grows, so will your career development opportunities. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Supervision: Lead and supervise theatre nursing staff to ensure high levels of performance, patient care, and staff engagement. Clinical Expertise: Utilise your expertise in Urology and General Surgery, ensuring you apply best-practice techniques during procedures. Experience with Robotics is highly desirable, as the hospital is introducing a new robotic surgery system. Collaborative Environment: Work closely with the EN and RN staff, and management teams to ensure seamless patient care and operational efficiency. You will be reporting to the Theatre NUM. Quality & Safety: Ensure that patient safety and quality standards are maintained throughout all theatre processes, adhering to hospital policies and AHPRA guidelines. Training & Development: Support the development and training of junior staff and other team members in theatre protocols and best practices. About You: Relevant Experience: A minimum ideally of 1 year of experience as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) in a scrub scout role, demonstrating strong leadership and clinical skills. Specialist Skills: Experience in Urology and General Surgery is essential. Experience with robotic surgery will be highly regarded, as the hospital is introducing a new robotic surgery machine to enhance their services. Registered Nurse: AHPRA registration is a must Work Rights: Full working rights within Australia are required for this position.
