Their projects range from distribution-level connected solar farms to complex standalone BESS projects across the National Electricity Market (NEM), aiming to harness Australia's natural advantages in solar and battery resources. Your new role As a Senior Project Development Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering development approvals, conducting internal environmental and planning due diligence assessments, coordinating specialist consultants, and facilitating connection application processes. Your day-to-day activities will contribute to successful project delivery by managing project budgets and monitoring resources to secure all necessary planning and secondary approvals. Client Management: Develop professional relationships at all levels. Maximize penetration to create ongoing opportunities. Manage communication flow to ensure clear understanding of project progress. Reporting: Weekly project reporting. Monthly project status reporting. Ad hoc reporting. Grid Interconnection: Coordinate connection applications through various NSPs (Network Service Providers) and Connection Engineers. Consult with NSPs as required. Attend Regulatory and Utility Engagement meetings. Project Design: Review regulatory design requirements to ensure project drawings align with standards. Provide feedback on concept plans. Consider methods to boost design efficiency. Stakeholder Management: Interact with various government departments (local, state, and federal) to gain relevant approvals. Select environmental consultants/experts to provide supporting services for specific project needs. Manage output and quality of providers. Attend community consultation sessions as required. Actively participate in relevant industry forums to raise the company profile. What you will need to succeed Proven track record in developing utility-scale solar farms and stand-alone BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) facilities. Experience facilitating connection application processes from pre-enquiry to connection offer stage. Strong internal and external stakeholder engagement experience. Experience working in diverse, multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency in creating and managing project management programmes and budgets. Proven experience in Construction or Development Management. Knowledge of Town Planning and the Development Approval process through state government and councils. Experience in project budgeting, revenue creation, and expense management. Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat. Excellent document control and filing skills. Effective communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
