Lecturer - Archives & Records (Teaching & Research) Faculty of HumanitiesPerth, Western AustraliaPermanent Full TimeDate posted: 6/3/2025Reference Number: 961234About the Role:The School of Media, Creative Arts, and Social Inquiry (MCASI) is looking to strengthen its leadership and expertise in the fields of Libraries, Archives, Records and Information Science through the appointment of a Lecturer (ALB level), who will have teaching and research responsibilities.In this role, you will conduct research and deliver teaching at the postgraduate level, engage and collaborate with industry partners, academic colleagues and the wider profession. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and leadership of research and teaching programs, and participate in the supervision of PhD students.Your responsibilities will include:Design and deliver high-quality online teaching to postgraduate students.Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing improvement in teaching through research-based/reflective practice and integration of contemporary pedagogical approaches.Contribute to the development and leadership of teaching and research programs in collaboration with other colleagues within the Information Science discipline and beyond.Conduct and disseminate research outputs through high-quality refereed journals/publications in a manner consistent with disciplinary practice.Provide effective supervision of research honours, research masters, and doctoral students.Engage and collaborate with industry, national and state organisations to enhance the relevance and impact of research and teaching in the discipline.Keep abreast of current disciplinary developments in theory and practice, and actively integrate emerging trends into teaching and research.Contribute to the School and University by active participation in academic and professional committees.Essential Criteria:A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline.Demonstrated high-level teaching skill and a reflective approach to teaching delivery.A strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline and a record of contribution to scholarship in teaching.An established record of research outputs/creative works in high quality refereed academic journals/outlets consistent with the discipline.A history of successful competitive grant applications.Demonstrated ability to supervise higher degree research students.Demonstrated experience/capacity to undertake unit coordination role.Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross-cultural sensitivity.Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.About Curtin UniversityWe are an energetic, dedicated team of academics and professionals working together to provide global solutions through quality graduates and innovative research.
