This is a unique opportunity to lead and inspire and make a significant impact on patient care in a supportive and community-focused environment.OverviewAs the Nurse Manager, you will:Use clinical knowledge and experience to provide support services to both Nurse / Midwife Unit Managers and Nursing Directors in nursing / midwifery practice and services in areas including but not limited to staffing methodologies, recruitment and selection, human resource management, financial administration, patient flow, bed and resource management, accreditation and risk management processes and information systems management.Lead and support a team of nursing / midwifery professionals and multidisciplinary staff, ensuring high-quality and continuous patient care.Be accountable for the outcomes of nursing / midwifery practices and multidisciplinary activities, addressing any inconsistencies between practice and policy.Foster a positive work culture, enhancing team performance and ensuring excellent patient / client outcomes.Key Responsibilities:Providing management support in a specific work portfolio / s;Coordinating and managing projects, programs and / or research to achieve improved patient / client outcomes and / or service delivery;Provides after hours oversight and management of the health service including staff allocation, operational management of patient / client flow and access, professional responsibility for nursing and midwifery staff, staffing skills mix, work health and safety responsibilities and significant events in consultation with the executive on call.Oversee the line management and coordination of nursing and multidisciplinary team activities to achieve optimal patient care.Address practice inconsistencies and policy deviations, working towards improved compliance and quality care.Develop and mentor staff, promoting professional growth and a collaborative work environment.Manage resources effectively, including staffing, performance management, and operational responsibilities.What We're Looking For:You must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse, Midwife, or Nurse / Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with a current practicing certificate.At least 3 years of post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse and / or Midwife.Demonstrated competence in nursing and / or midwifery practice, adhering to relevant standards.Proven leadership experience, including managing and supervising students, enrolled nurses, and less experienced staff.Highly developed skills in communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation.Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and lead change management efforts.Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant computer software.Knowledge in Health Information Systems.The RegionThe Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN) covers almost 440,000 square kilometres of spectacular South Australia, supporting about 40,000 people living around Eyre Peninsula and the Far North of the state.With its ancient outback landscapes and culture, boutique vineyards, renowned oyster farms and Australia’s best-kept-secret surf coast, the Eyre Peninsula and Far North offers a lifestyle that will inspire and energise you.
