You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing essential primary care, collaborating with other GPs and supported by Aboriginal Support Workers, registered nurses, and visiting allied health specialists. The Aboriginal Medical Service is co-located within the hospital, providing a comprehensive range of services. The role uses Communicare software and operates Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with no on-call, Emergency Department or weekend work required. The Location: Doomadgee is a remote town nestled in the Gulf of Carpentaria, located in far northern Queensland. It is home to the Gangalidda and Waanyi peoples and serves as a crucial centre for the surrounding Indigenous communities. The town is surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, including wetlands, rivers, and forests, offering a tranquil environment for both work and recreation. Doomadgee provides a valuable opportunity to work closely within a tight-knit community, delivering culturally sensitive healthcare and contributing to the wellbeing of its residents.
