Job Summary:
The Dairy Department Manager will oversee the daily operations of the dairy section within the supermarket. This role involves managing inventory, ensuring product quality, maintaining displays, and delivering excellent customer service. We’re seeking for strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for supporting the local community and retail grocery.
Key Responsibilities: (not limited to)
* Monitor stock levels, place orders, and ensure optimal inventory to meet customer demand while minimizing waste.
* Ensure all dairy products are fresh, properly stored, and displayed attractively. Conduct regular quality checks.
* Lead and manage the dairy department team, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
* Address customer inquiries and complaints professionally and promptly. Provide product knowledge and recommendations.
* Plan and execute effective merchandising strategies to maximize sales and enhance the customer shopping experience.
* Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
* Assist in budgeting, monitor department expenses, and analyze sales reports to identify opportunities for improvement.
About You:
* Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a retail environment, preferably in a dairy or perishable goods department.
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional qualifications in retail management or food safety are a plus.
* Skills: Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Knowledge: Familiarity with dairy products, food safety regulations, and inventory management practices.
* Physical fit: Ability to lift to 20kgs and ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
* Availability: Available to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings or on-call work.
* Cold Storage Handling: work in a refrigerated/freezer environment.
* Work Rights: Australian citizen/Permanent Resident.
