This role will be central in driving strategic communications, fostering positive community relationships, and ensuring the public is informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.About the Role:Develop and execute a strategic communications plan aligned with project objectives and milestones.Lead community engagement efforts, including public consultations, ensuring community concerns are addressed effectively.Create clear and compelling content across platforms, including media releases, social media, newsletters, and updates.Liaise with project managers, contractors, and government bodies to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely project communication.Prepare high-quality briefing materials, speeches, and presentations for senior executives and stakeholders.Monitor media coverage, public sentiment, and industry trends to inform proactive communications strategies.Manage crisis communications and issues resolution, providing prompt and effective responses.Offer expert advice to senior leadership on communication and engagement matters.Evaluate and report on communication and engagement outcomes.Ensure all communication activities meet legal, ethical, and organisational standards.Mentor and support other communications professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.About YouMandatory Requirements:Minimum of five (5) years' experience in communications and community engagement, preferably in infrastructure, construction, or government sectors.IAP2 (International Association of Public Participation) Certification or willingness to obtain it independently.Relevant tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or Marketing.Proven success in delivering communication and engagement strategies.Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with high attention to detail.Strong project management skills and ability to manage competing priorities.Highly developed interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.Understanding of Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA) frameworks.Leads strategically: Aligns communication strategies with broader organisational goals.Inspires others: Engages stakeholders with clear and compelling messaging.Demonstrates sound governance: Identifies and mitigates risks through effective planning.Executive correspondence: Crafts high-quality communications that build stakeholder trust.Media expertise: Leverages media knowledge to protect and enhance the project's reputation.Community engagement: Designs and implements strategies that drive meaningful public participation.This is more than a job-it's a chance to leave a legacy by shaping how major infrastructure projects are understood and embraced by the community.
