About this opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the PACT Group Contract Manufacturing Division as a Maintenance Fitter. The duties for the role includes: playing a lead role in all day to day operations; coaching and mentoring of maintenance technicians and line setters; supervision of external contractors; preventative maintenance on machines and equipment; as well as responding to emergency machine break downs throughout the plant; involvement with new design, installation and movements of existing machines; overhaul and repair of machines and equipment. Ensuring machines and equipment on site are safe, working efficiently and fit for purpose. In absence of position holder, Maintenance Manager is responsible for the duties or person determined by Manufacturing Manager.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
2. To adhere to APMs safety obligations in accordance with OH&S legislation
3. Improving and modifications to machinery to improve productivity, quality of product
4. Design, Promote and Carry out Preventative Maintenance
5. Ensure all machines are safe and fit for purpose
6. Installation of new machines and equipment
7. Overhaul and upkeep and repair of all plant machines
8. Review and Advise on Engineering requirements and drawings
9. Actively promote safe working practices
10. Work with and Coordinate Contractors
11. Undertake repairs and servicing to the highest standard in accordance with work requests and predetermined specifications
12. Fault Finding, testing, and the removal or adjustment of existing fittings, fixtures and parts
13. Where a detailed specification is not provided determine the cause of the fault and then undertake the most cost-effective solution to remedy the defect
14. Effective communication – keeping Management and relevant parties aware and seeking advice and assistance when required
15. Train and assess line setters and maintenance technicians
16. Able to setup the capper machine when required.
Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
17. A keen eye for detail
18. Basic understanding of Engineering requirements and able interpret drawings
19. Working knowledge of MS Office suite/computer skill
20. Strong interpersonal, communication & presentation skills
